OUR APPROACH

A long-term strategy built on partnership.

Strategic installations

Working with first responders, we identify communities that are prone to power outages. Through rigorous assessment, we build renewable systems on structurally sound stations where they will have maximum impact.

Equitable partnerships

Investing in local partnerships ensures the efficacy and long-term impact of our mission. That’s why we contract with local engineers, local fabricators, and local contractors.

A self-sustaining model

The long-term maintenance and operations of the systems can be administered by recouping energy cost savings and participating in the island’s net-metering program. Investments in metering and conservation can maximize the system’s economic impacts.

New Components

We only install brand new equipment under manufacturer warranty, reducing the risk that backup systems will fail and firefighters are left in the dark. In case something breaks, a local team is on standby for repairs.

Monitoring & Training

Our work isn’t done when the installation is complete. As long-term partners, we train first responders how to use, maintain, and monitor the systems to keep them running efficiently.

Transparency

Solar Responders is a registered 501(c)(3), PR 1101, tax exempt organization. Donations support our mission to install solar power and battery storage on first responders stations.
